Houses, road and trees around Lynwood

We have submitted an outline application for a single 'prestige' or 'executive' style home on a 0.9 hectare piece of greenfield land situated on Beacon Edge, Penrith. The land lies between the large and imposing pair of semi-detached houses known as East Larches and West Larches, and Lynwood and Lynwood Cottage.

The proposal for this solitary dwelling will be set within its own large, extensively landscaped gardens that will include a substantial planted boundary, typical of the other large houses in the vicinity. The area of Beacon Edge up to Lynwood can be characterised by large, Victorian-styled Villas, constructed in sandstone with slate roofs, and standing in their own extensive gardens. These gardens typically feature both specimen and indigenous landscaping, and all have a strongly landscaped and stone walled boundary with Beacon Edge. This is punctuated at intervals by smaller houses set closer to Beacon Edge Road.

Our nearby, award winning development, Mulberry Gardens, that was completed in 2021 has received much positive feedback over how well the development fits into the overall character of the area, and the interest it generated shows that there is a distinct lack of opportunity for larger new properties in Penrith.
