The works comprised stripping out a redundant farm building, creating new window and external door openings while ensuring the use of traditional building techniques with local red sandstone rubble walling. The project also included the renewal of loose timber pitched roof structure with natural slate coverings, timber upper floors, and adding a feature hardwood staircase with glazed balustrade. Additionally, timber studwork internal partitions, timber panelled doors, and plasterboard and skim linings to internal walls and ceilings were installed.
A particular feature of the building is the full height glazed screen over two levels with a green oak surround, emphasising the oak staircase behind. Externally, the project included below-ground drainage, the creation of a feature courtyard area with traditional stone paving, landscaping, stone walls and other external works.
